Cham Language Program Update
Free courses in the classic form or written Cham began last September and at this time have over 40 students and a single teacher in Sre Prey. They are using the same new community school building as our English Language classes. To our knowledge this is the ONLY program in the world that is teaching the original Cham script, keeping alive a language that includes texts dating back at least 1,800 years from the Kingdom of Champa, and which remains actively used in the Iman Sann Cham community’s religious texts.
